The perpetrator, a 24-year-old local resident, was informed of the suspicion of illegal possession and sale of narcotics. For what he committed, he faces up to ten years in prison with confiscation of property.
As the operatives of the criminal police and investigators of police department No. 1 of the Sambir district police department established, a 24-year-old resident of Stariy Sambor repeatedly sold psychotropic substances on the territory of the district.
On January 25, law enforcement officers detained an intruder on Vitovsky Street in Stary Sambor. A polymer bag with a gray substance that looked like “amphetamine” was found in his possession.
Also, an authorized search was conducted at the perpetrator’s place of residence, during which the law enforcement officers found a substance that looked like narcotics and other material evidence. Everything removed is directed to expert research.
The drug courier was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
The police are establishing the channels of entry of psychotropic substances, as well as the persons involved in it.
