Helped “evaders” avoid mobilization – in Lviv region, law enforcement officers informed a doctor about suspicion of forging medical documents

As the law enforcement officers established, the head of the department of one of the hospitals in the Stryi district, who was a part-time member of the permanent military medical commission at one of the RTCC and SP, entered inaccurate information into the medical documents of two conscripted men, which later served as a basis for recognition them unfit for military service and exclusion from military registration.

The perpetrator was exposed by the investigators of the department of investigation of crimes in the field of economic and official activities of the investigative department of the police of the Lviv region together with the operatives of the Office of Strategic Investigations in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Western region.

On May 1, the perpetrator was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 366 (Official Forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – a fine of two thousand to four thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or restriction of freedom for a period of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
