An aggressive shepherd without a muzzle rushed at passengers and volunteers, and the owner of the animal did not respond to numerous requests to calm the dog down
On July 31, around 6:20 p.m., volunteers approached the employees of Police Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2, who were patrolling the territory of the main railway station in Lviv.
They reported that there was an inebriated, inappropriate man with an aggressive dog without a muzzle on the first platform, which was attacking people. The owner did not respond to numerous requests to calm the dog down and put a muzzle on it.
When the police arrived at the scene, the owner lowered the sheepdog at the law enforcement officers. One of the policemen was forced to use a service firearm to neutralize the animal, which threatened the life and health of people.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 345 (Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the article is imprisonment for a term of up to three years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
