A 44-year-old local resident was found guilty of domestic violence (Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public accusation by the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office.
The court imposed a punishment in the form of arrest for a period of two months.
The prosecutor proved in court that the convict lived together with a 34-year-old roommate in one of the villages of Yavoriv district. The man, not having a permanent job, often abused alcohol.
In a state of alcohol intoxication, he systematically engaged in groundless quarrels, repeatedly expressed claims about his life, insulted the victim with obscene words and humiliated him. He responded to any remarks with physical abuse and grabbing his clothes.
As a result, the woman feared for her safety and suffered both psychologically and physically.
