A schoolgirl died as a result of a road accident in the Lviv region – the police are investigating the circumstances
The traffic accident occurred on August 20 at 9:15 p.m. in the village of Malniv, Yavoriv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Renault Traffic car, a 55-year-old resident of the city of Mostysk, ran into an electric wheelchair in which a 14-year-old girl, a local resident, was riding. The schoolgirl died at the scene from her injuries.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
