In Zolochiv region, police detained an intruder on suspicion of theft from a store

On May 2, operational line 102 received a message from the owner of a store located in one of the villages of Zolochiv district. The applicant stated that goods and money had been stolen from the establishment at night. The amount of losses is about 20 thousand hryvnias.

An investigative task force and other officers of the Zolochiv District Police Department №1 worked at the scene.

Investigators of the criminal police, having studied the video from surveillance cameras, established the identity of the perpetrator, a previously convicted 52-year-old local resident.

He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Police also found and seized material evidence from him.

In fact, investigators of the territorial police department opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The court will soon choose a measure of restraint for the detainee
