SBU detains two drug dealers who were distributing amphetamine and cannabis in Zolochiv district

Law enforcers detain two drug dealers in Lviv region for selling amphetamine and cannabis

It was established that the residents of Brody aged 25 and 38 were selling psychotropic and narcotic drugs to local residents on a hand-to-hand basis. They face imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.

The criminals were exposed by criminal police operatives and investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Zolochiv District Police Department jointly with the SBU Office in Lviv region, under the procedural supervision of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office.

Law enforcement officers documented several facts of drug and psychotropic sales, and during the authorized searches found and seized cannabis and amphetamine-like substances, means for manufacturing and packaging of prohibited substances, electronic scales, cash proceeds from illegal activities in the amount of over UAH 110 thousand, USD 20 thousand and other material evidence. All seized items were sent for examination to the Lviv Scientific Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The offenders were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and served a notice of suspicion of committing criminal offenses stipulated by Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint against the suspects.
