The traffic accident happened today, December 26, around 6:20 a.m., on the highway “Kyiv – Chop” near the village of Pasyky Zubrytskyi, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Audi passenger car, a 29-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region, while moving in the direction of the city of Chop, lost control and drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a MAN train driven by a 60-year-old from Lviv
The driver of the car died at the scene of the injuries sustained as a result of the accident.
According to the fact, the police investigators of the Lviv region opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
