In the first month of the year, there were 10 traffic accidents involving drunk drivers on the roads of the Lviv region, resulting in 12 people injured, fortunately with no fatalities.
During this period, law enforcement in Lviv and the region issued 714 protocols for drunk driving. Further decisions are pending in court.
We remind you of the responsibilities for driving a vehicle under the influence:
- under part 1 of article 130 (Driving a vehicle by a person under the influence or refusal to undergo an examination for intoxication) of the Code of Administrative Offenses — a fine of 17,000 hryvnias with deprivation of driving rights for 1 year;
- under part 2 of article 130 (Repeated driving under the influence within a year) of the Code of Administrative Offenses — a fine of 34,000 hryvnias with deprivation of driving rights for 3 years with a possible vehicle confiscation or 10 days of administrative arrest with a possible vehicle confiscation;
- under part 3 of article 130 (Third and subsequent instances of driving under the influence within a year) of the Code of Administrative Offenses — a fine of 51,000 hryvnias with deprivation of driving rights for 10 years and vehicle confiscation or 15 days of administrative arrest with deprivation of driving rights for 10 years and vehicle confiscation;
- under part 4 of article 130 (Consumption by a person who was driving a vehicle, post-accident involving them, of alcohol, drugs, psychotropic substances, or medical substances before the appropriate examination) of the Code of Administrative Offenses — a fine of 34,000 hryvnias or administrative arrest for 15 days with deprivation of driving rights for 3 years.
