Prosecutors of the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office have submitted to court a case against a 38-year-old resident of the region who is accused of illegal logging and transportation of timber (part 3, 4 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). lviv.gp.gov.ua
- It has been established that the man carried out illegal logging of larch trees in the forest area on the territory of the National Nature Park “Boykivshchyna” without the appropriate permission.
- Initially, he transported the cut forest with a horse-drawn carriage, and later used a truck for further transportation.
- The damages to the state are estimated to exceed 800 thousand hryvnias.
To compensate for the material damages, the Borynska Village Council filed a civil lawsuit within the framework of the criminal proceedings. The timber and vehicle have been seized. The investigation was conducted by the investigators of the police unit No. 2 of the Sambir District Police Department of the National Police in Lviv Region.
Important: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law and confirmed by a court’s conviction.
