Lviv resident will be tried for illegal border crossing in the status of a father with many children for USD 10 thousand

Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have sent to court an indictment against a 20-year-old Lviv resident on the fact of organising the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of

Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the suspect, during martial law, assisted in organising the illegal transfer of a person liable for military service across the state border of Ukraine.

In exchange for a monetary reward, he promised to produce fictitious documents on the status of a father of many children.

The price of this service was USD 10,000.

The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine – while receiving the declared “fee”.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region, with operational support from the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region of the State Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine and operational officers of the Lviv Border Guard Detachment.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
