The road accident occurred today, 15 November, at around 07.30 a.m. in the village of Shpilchyna, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, a Skoda and a Volkswagen car travelling in the direction of Lviv collided. The Skoda was driven by a 22-year-old resident of Lviv, and the Volkswagen was driven by a 19-year-old resident of a village in Lviv district.
The driver of the Volkswagen died on the spot as a result of the accident, and two of his passengers, 19-year-old residents of the district, were injured and hospitalised.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident. The issue of initiating criminal proceedings under Part 2 Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules) is being decided.
