She defrauded a pensioner from Lviv for almost 135,000 hryvnias – the woman was sentenced

The court found a 44-year-old resident of Luhansk Oblast guilty of fraud (Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public accusation by the prosecutor of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv. She was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

The prosecutor proved in court that in November 2022 in Lviv, a local resident, a 74-year-old pensioner, received a call from an unknown number and introduced herself as a medical worker.

During the conversation, the grandmother told false information that her daughter had been in an accident and needed medical assistance, which had to be paid for as soon as possible. Later, the convict came to the pensioner’s house to collect money allegedly for treatment.

The victim gave the pseudo-nurse all her savings.

In this way, the latter defrauded a pensioner in the amount of almost UAH 135,000.
