Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment was sent to the court against five members of an organized group on the facts of illegal production and storage for the purpose of selling excise goods (part 3 of article 28, part 1, 2 of article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in the period from October 2022 to April 2023, employees of one of the companies established illegal oil processing and production of low-quality fuel.
An underground workshop for the production of fuel and lubricants was organized on the territory of the company in one of the villages of the Stryi district of the Lviv region.
There, on special equipment, they processed oil into fuel and stored it for further sale.
During the searches, law enforcement officers found metal tanks, reactors with a refrigerator for condensing vapors, process pumps, pipes, tanks and other special equipment used to produce fuel. More than 20 tons of petroleum products and almost 8 tons of oil were also seized. The value of the seized item is more than UAH 2 million.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the detectives of the Security Intelligence Service in the Lviv region, operational support was provided by the Strategic Investigations Department in the Lviv region of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
