Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Halych District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, a 38-year-old resident of Lviv district was served a notice of suspicion. He is charged with premeditated murder and completed attempted premeditated murder (Article 115 (1), Article 15 (2) – Article 115 (2) (1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in July this year in Bryukhovychi, the suspect killed a woman and tried to kill a man.
On that day, the suspect came to visit his 55-year-old acquaintance, who also had a 62-year-old friend in her house. They were drinking alcohol there. During the meal, a conflict broke out between the suspect and the victims. During the argument, the man grabbed a wooden log and hit the woman several times. She died on the spot from her injuries. Subsequently, the suspect used the same deck to inflict multiple blows to the body of his acquaintance.
After that, believing that he had finished the job, he fled the scene.
However, the victim survived, as he received timely medical assistance and was hospitalised. However, he is currently in an extremely serious condition.
In the course of investigative and operational measures, law enforcement officers identified and detained the suspect.
At the request of the prosecutor, a custody without the right to be released on bail was chosen as a measure of restraint.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
