Under the procedural leadership of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office, indictments were sent to court against a 21-year-old resident of Yavoriv region and a 50-year-old resident of Lviv. They are charged with intentional damage to someone else’s property (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in January of this year, in one of the villages of the Lviv district, the accused set fire to a vehicle belonging to an acquaintance.
That day, in the morning, a previously convicted resident of Lviv entered the yard of the victim’s father, where the car was located. The masked man poured gasoline over the front of the vehicle and set it on fire. At that time, a 21-year-old man remained nearby in his car, observing the surrounding situation.
After the “completed work” they fled from the scene.
The motive for the arson was the intimidation of a former friend.
As a result of such actions, more than UAH 140,000 in property damage was caused to the victim.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
