Resident of Chervonohrad sentenced for beating his 16-year-old brother to death
Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Chervonohrad District Prosecutor’s Office, a 36-year-old man was found guilty of inflicting intentional grievous bodily harm that caused the victim’s death (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
It has been established that in October last year, the defendant became the guardian of his 16-year-old brother with cerebral palsy. Shortly after that, in February this year, the convict, returning home in a state of intoxication, during another domestic conflict with his brother, struck him multiple times in the head and chest. As a result, the victim died on the spot.
The man will be kept in custody until the verdict enters into force.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Chervonohrad District Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
The court verdict will come into force after the expiration of the appeal period.
