Suspicions have been reported to the so-called “looker” who organized the “business” and his accomplices.
Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region, together with regional police investigators, uncovered a channel for the supply of narcotic drugs to the correctional institution.
The 34-year-old “watcher of the sector” organized illegal activities and involved both convicts and persons “of free will” as accomplices. Those who were at large bought and later delivered drugs to a state institution by throwing them over the fence. Convicts picked up rolls and sold prohibited substances to dependents. “Businessmen” kept clear reports, and funds were received on a bank card. The monthly income, which could reach 100 thousand hryvnias, was distributed among all participants.
On September 24, operatives detained one of the men with bundles of drugs under the fence of the correctional colony.
The so-called “bystander”, a man who was preparing to transfer narcotics, and four other accomplices were charged with suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 307 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
During the searches, bags with a substance of plant origin, pills, and drafts were found.
The investigation continues under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
