The criminal detectives of the Lviv Oblast Police together with the employees of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, exposed the perpetrator.
According to law enforcement officers, on September 22 at around 8:30 p.m., an intruder entered the premises of a pharmacy located on Lyubinska Street in Lviv and, threatening the female pharmacist with a device for shooting rubber bullets similar to Makarov’s pistol, took money from the cash register and then fled.
Two days later, on September 24, at around 11:45 a.m. on Simon Petliura Street in Lviv, an intruder opened the door of a collector’s car parked on the side of the road, beat the collector, sprayed him with gas from a canister in his face and, taking possession of a bag with safe-deposit bags, began to run away. Collectors pursued the attacker, but they did not manage to detain him. During the escape, the attacker threw away most of the loot, but managed to tear open one of the safe packages and took possession of the money.
After conducting investigative measures and studying the video from the “Safe Lviv Region” surveillance cameras, the law enforcement officers established that a 35-year-old resident of Lviv was involved in the crime and arrested him.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the intruder about the suspicion of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for a term of up to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
