Police have exposed two Chervonohrad residents involved in the robbery

Officers of the Chervonohrad District Police Department have identified a malefactor who robbed a local woman at a market in Chervonohrad. The man snatched a package from the 68-year-old pensioner, which contained a mobile phone, a wallet with money and a pension certificate, keys to the apartment, and fled.

During the measures taken, the police established that a 35-year-old local resident was involved in the crime. Material evidence was seized from him.

In addition, law enforcement officers established the identity of the perpetrator who robbed a 62-year-old man temporarily living in Chervonohrad on June 8.

A 39-year-old local resident, previously convicted of similar offenses, illegally seized money from the applicant, who and his wife are internally displaced persons.

On both facts, investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural guidance of the Chervonohrad District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.

The issue of notifying criminals of suspected robbery and choosing a precautionary measure is being resolved.

Pre-trial investigations are ongoing.
