As the law enforcement officers established, the attacker brutally beat the 71-year-old mother and went to sleep – the woman died at the scene from her injuries. For what he has committed, he faces up to fifteen years of imprisonment.
On November 12, around 8:00 a.m., a 46-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district called the police and reported that his mother had died.
The investigative team of police department No. 3 of Lviv district police department No. 2, as well as forensic experts of the police of Lviv Oblast immediately went to the scene of the incident. The police found the body of a 71-year-old woman with signs of violent death in the apartment.
The operatives of the criminal police conducted primary investigative actions, interviewed neighbors, studied video from surveillance cameras and found that her son, a 46-year-old resident of the Lviv district, was involved in the death of the pensioner. The day before, he came to his mother and, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, during a family conflict, kicked and punched the woman numerous times.
The woman died of her injuries at the scene, and the son went to sleep. In the morning, he called the police and reported that his mother had died suddenly during the night.
The police detained the perpetrator in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to fifteen years.
