Law enforcement officers once again appeal to citizens – be as attentive and careful as possible while on the railway tracks. Remember that the railway is a high-danger zone.
The traffic accident occurred on November 12, around 10:30 p.m., on the Shchyrets – Glyna-Navariya railway line between the villages of the same name in the Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, a passenger train on the Truskavets-Kyiv connection, moving in the direction of Lviv, ran over a 38-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, who was sitting on the track.
The man died at the scene from his injuries.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 3 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway, water or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to ten years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
