Four residents of Drohobych district to be tried for USD 13,000 volunteer IDs

Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have sent to court an indictment against four residents of Drohobych. They are charged with organising the illegal transfer of a person across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the defendants, by prior conspiracy, assisted in the illegal transfer of a man of military age out of the country under martial law.

To do this, they promised the “client” to issue a volunteer certificate, on the basis of which his data was entered into the Shlyakh system. In this way, he was granted the right to cross the border without hindrance.

They estimated their services at USD 13,000 per person.

The illegal actions were stopped by law enforcement officers after they received a part of the funds in the amount of USD 2,400.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine with the operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region of the State Secret Service of Ukraine.

Note: In accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
