Two residents of Lviv region wanted to receive $13,000 bribe for a volunteer certificate

Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office, two residents of Lviv region were exposed and served a notice of suspicion of organizing illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspects, by prior conspiracy, assisted in the illegal transfer of a man of military age out of the country under martial law.

To do this, they promised the “client” to issue a volunteer certificate, on the basis of which his data was entered into the “Shlyakh” system. Thus, he was granted the right to cross the border without hindrance.

They estimated their services at $13,000 per person.

They were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine after receiving a part of the money in the amount of USD 2,400.

Currently, the detainees have been detained in custody as a measure of restraint. Investigative actions are ongoing, the involvement of other persons in the crime is being checked.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Investigation Department of the Main Department of the National Police of the region with the operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region of the State Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
