Law enforcement officers exposed the head of one of the village councils in Lviv Oblast for numerous offenses related to “land issues”

As a result of the illegal actions of the official, during the illegal transfer of land plots from communal to private ownership, losses to the total amount of almost three million hryvnias were caused to the state.

The criminal was exposed by the operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region together with the employees of the investigative department of the police of the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office.

As the law enforcement officers established, in 2020 the head of one of the village councils of the Yavoriv district, abusing his official position and intending to illegally transfer three plots of land with a total area of almost one hectare and a total value of about three million hryvnias to the ownership of the villagers, committed official forgery, as well as agreed and issued the relevant decisions of the village council, which led to the illegal transfer of the specified plots into private ownership.

Investigators informed the perpetrator of the suspicion of criminal offenses provided for in part 1, part 2 of article 364 (Abuse of power or official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and part 1 of article 366 (Official forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty that the suspect faces is imprisonment for a term of up to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
