Part of the land of the “Bilyi Bereg” forest reserve was transferred to private ownership in the Peremyshlyany district

Prosecutor’s Office demands in court to return land of “Bilyi Bereg” forest reserve

The Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office revealed a violation of the state’s interests in environmental protection. In particular, in terms of the illegal transfer of forest reserve lands to the municipal ownership of the Przemysl City Council.

We are talking about the local forest reserve “White Bank” with an area of 1 hectare. It is located on the territory of the Przemyslanka forestry and was created to preserve and restore valuable tree plantations and natural biodiversity of the region.

In addition, the reserve is part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, protected as a national treasure and subject to a special regime of protection, reproduction and use.

At the same time, prosecutors found that in 2020, according to the Order of the Main Department of the StateGeoCadastre in Lviv Oblast, the lands of the forest reserve were illegally transferred to the communal ownership of the Przemysl City Council as agricultural land.

Thus, the land of the Bilyi Bereg reserve could have been transferred to the ownership or use of legal entities or individuals, which would have caused irreparable damage to the environment.

In response to this fact, the Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit to return the land plot of the nature reserve fund to the ownership of the Lviv Regional Council.

The Commercial Court of Lviv Oblast has now opened proceedings in the case. The trial is ongoing.
