6 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property – this is the sentence imposed on a drug dealer from Lviv

Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the first instance court. The latter ruling found the 30-year-old man guilty of possession and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as possession without intent to sell (Article 307(2) and 309(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 6 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Prosecutors proved in court that the convict was illegally selling drugs and psychotropic substances in Lviv.

Also, during searches in the man’s apartment, they found prohibited drugs and psychotropic substances that he kept for his own use.

The defendant’s lawyer filed an appeal, in which he asked to reduce the term of imprisonment and release him from serving a sentence with probation with the establishment of a probationary period.

However, the court agreed with the arguments of the regional prosecutors and dismissed the defence’s appeal.
