A resident of Chervonograd will be tried for glorifying the “bright past of the USSR” and asserting that there will be no Ukraine

Under the procedural guidance of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment against a citizen of Ukraine was sent to court. She is accused of inciting national enmity and hatred (Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the accused incited national enmity and hatred of the Ukrainian people while in a public place.

The figure was riding one of the suburban minibuses, where she started a conflict with the driver and other passengers. She claimed that “Ukraine will disappear and will not exist,” and insulted its people with obscene words.

In addition, the woman glorified the “bright past of the USSR”, noting that Moscow should be thanked for this.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by investigators of police department No. 2 of the Chervonograd district police department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region under the operational support of the Chervonograd district department of the SBU Office in Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
