The SBU exposed a prisoner-agent of the FSB, who was looking for correctional officers “on the loose” for Russian strikes on Lviv

Cyber specialists of the Security Service exposed an FSB agent who, while serving a sentence in a correctional colony in the Lviv region, contributed to the preparation of a Russian air attack on the military and critical infrastructure of the region. Among the main targets of the raiders were the points of transit basing of heavy weapons of the Armed Forces and local thermal power plants.

In addition, the attacker had the task of finding people who were supposed to record the possible movement of military equipment in the border zone of the Lviv region.

In order to collect information, as well as guide Russian missiles and drones at Ukrainian objects, the person involved tried to create his own network of informants. The prisoner wanted to involve his close relatives and acquaintances “on the loose” with her.

The Russian agent had to pass all the intelligence received from them to his “curator” from the FSB.
For each completed task, the enemy special services “promised” from 1 to 5 thousand US dollars. The amount depended on the importance of the Ukrainian object.

SBU employees timely blocked the subversive activities of the Russian agent and thus thwarted the aggressor’s plans to prepare a new series of strikes in the region.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator was a 48-year-old local resident who has been serving a sentence for committing a serious crime since 2019.

The FSB came into the limelight due to his comments in support of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which he published in “Odnoklasnyky”.

Then the Russian special service carried out remote recruitment of the prisoner under the guise of his acquaintance with a Russian citizen.

During the search, a hidden mobile phone was seized from the suspect, which he used to communicate with the FSB.

So far, investigators of the Security Service have informed him of suspicion under five articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▫️ h. 1 Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);

▫️ h. 2 Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law);

▫️ h. 1 Art. 161 (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their racial, national, regional belonging, religious beliefs, disability and on other grounds);

Art. 436 (war propaganda);

▫️ h. 2 and part 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The perpetrator faces life imprisonment.

Complex measures to expose the Russian agent were carried out by employees and investigators of the SBU in the Lviv region together with operatives of the penitentiary service under the procedural guidance
