The prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office completed the pre-trial investigation and sent an indictment to the court against an incumbent deputy of one of the city councils of the Lviv Oblast for fraud (Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the accused illegally privatized a plot of land worth more than UAH 2 million. We are talking about a plot with a total area of 2 hectares, which is located in the Peremyshlyan district of the Lviv region.
For this purpose, he unlawfully repeatedly used the right of one-time free transfer of plots of state or communal property to citizens of Ukraine.
In this way, the official had already privatized two plots of land, but despite this, illegally re-acquired another one as private property.
According to the lawsuit of the prosecutor’s office, the illegally privatized plots were returned to the ownership of the territorial community.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Department of the National Police of the region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
