Seven killed, including children, in missile attack on Lviv – prosecutor’s office launches investigation

Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated in criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

 

According to the investigation, on the morning of 4 September 2024, the Russian military fired a rocket attack on the city of Lviv. Lviv.

The attack damaged residential buildings in the historic part of the city. Educational and medical facilities were also damaged.

So far, 7 people have been reported dead, including children. 40 people were injured. The exact number of casualties is being clarified.

Russia is a terrorist country. Every day we see that its main targets are civilians and civilian infrastructure. These are war crimes, massive and deliberate. We will not stop until all those who give and execute these criminal orders are brought to justice.

There may still be people under the rubble, and search and rescue operations are ongoing.

Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the Russian armed forces.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the SBU Office in Lviv region.
