Prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv completed the pre-trial investigation and sent to the court an indictment against a 28-year-old resident of the Lviv Region regarding the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine by removing obstacles (parts 1, 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the accused contributed to the illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine during the martial law. This “service” was used by more than 50 conscripted citizens.
The man implemented the transfer of persons in a well-thought-out way. The latter worked as a logistician for one of the Lviv companies that carry out international cargo transportation. The figure was authorized by the head of the company to enter information into the “Path” system. Accordingly, in order to eliminate obstacles in the border crossing by conscripts, he noted that they are allegedly also its employees. Thus, conscripts were allowed to travel outside Ukraine as drivers.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
