Starosta of one of the village councils of Yavoriv district is suspected of illegal transfer of land worth almost half a million hryvnias

Under the procedural supervision of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, the starosta of the starosta district of one of the village councils in Yavoriv district was served a notice of suspicion. He is charged with abuse of office and forgery (Part 1 Article 364, Part 1 Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in November 2020, the suspect, being the head of the village council at the time, illegally transferred two land plots to private ownership to residents of Lviv region.

These are lands with a total area of almost 0.24 hectares for individual gardening and for the construction and maintenance of a residential building, outbuildings and structures. They are located in Yavoriv district. Their total value is almost half a million hryvnias.

To do this, the man signed and sealed knowingly false official documents – a protocol and a decision of the village council to grant land to citizens.

However, the official knew for certain that the agreed land management project had not been submitted to the village council, the state registration of the land plots in the cadastre had not taken place and, accordingly, they had not been assigned cadastral numbers.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being carried out by investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast, based on materials from the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Lviv Oblast.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
