The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.
As the employees of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 established, on September 22 at around 1:30 p.m. on Knyagini Olga Street in Lviv, an intruder snatched a mobile phone from the hands of a passerby, an 18-year-old Lviv resident, and fled.
The investigation and operational group and employees of other services of the territorial division of the police were involved in solving the crime. Through the conducted measures, the law enforcement officers quickly established that a 37-year-old resident of the city of Chernivtsi was involved in the theft and detained him. Physical evidence was seized.
The law enforcement officers informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
