A man robbed a 95-year-old pensioner in Boryslav

An offender accused of robbing a pensioner will be tried in Lviv region

The accused, who has previously been prosecuted, faces imprisonment for up to ten years for his crime.

According to law enforcement officers, on March 21, around 21.00, a 95-year-old resident of Boryslav was letting his cat out. When the man opened the door, a 41-year-old resident of one of the villages in the district suddenly broke into the house. He beat the homeowner, inflicting bodily injuries, seized all the valuable property in the house and fled.

The police conducted a set of operational and search activities, studied the video surveillance footage of the “Safe Lviv Region” system, established the offender’s whereabouts and detained him.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 4 Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment was sent to the court for consideration.

The offender was exposed by officers of the Police Department No. 1 of the Drohobych District Police Department and the Drohobych District Police Department, under the procedural supervision of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office.
