In Brody, a local resident shot a stray dog

He shot a homeless dog – a resident of Brody was informed of the suspicion

Under the procedural leadership of the Zolochiv district prosecutor’s office, a 71-year-old man was notified of suspicion of cruelty to animals (Part 3 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in August of this year in Brody, the suspect shot a stray dog with an air rifle from the balcony of his apartment. At that time, the animal was lying on the territory adjacent to the house.

As a result of such actions, the person involved caused bodily injuries to the dog’s neck.

The dog is currently in the Animal Adaptation Center, where it is receiving the necessary assistance.

Investigations are ongoing.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by the investigators of police department No. 1 of the Zolochiv district police department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
