The road traffic accident occurred on 25 October, at 12.30 am, on Hrushevskoho Street in Brody, Zolochiv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Nissan, a 64-year-old local resident, hit a 71-year-old resident of Brody.
As a result of the accident, the elderly woman was injured and hospitalised.
Investigators of the Zolochiv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
