As established by the criminal police operatives jointly with investigators of the Chervonohrad District Police Department, under the procedural supervision of the Chervonohrad District Prosecutor’s Office, a 39-year-old resident of the district center was selling “cannabis” in his apartment.
Law enforcers documented several facts of the offender’s sale of prohibited substances to drug addicts in Chervonohrad and on March 11 detained him in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after another sale of cannabis to one of his “clients”.
During the authorized search, the police found and seized from the detainee: a roll with a substance similar to cannabis, electronic scales, as well as other material evidence of his involvement in illegal activities. All the seized items were sent for examination to the Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Lviv region.
Investigators of the territorial police unit served the offender a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty facing the suspect is imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint.
