The traffic accident occurred on August 14, around 9:40 p.m., on the Busk-Berestechko highway near the village of Lopatyn, Chervonograd district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Caddy, a 42-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, collided with a dump truck driven by a 63-year-old local resident.
As a result of the road accident, the driver of the sub was injured and, despite the efforts of the doctors, died in the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
