The traffic accident happened on December 2, around 4:15 p.m., on Lesya Ukrainka Street in Drohobych.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Toyota Avensis car, a 34-year-old resident of Drohobych, hit a pedestrian, a 78-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, an elderly woman was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of Lviv Oblast opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
