On April 6, at 14:57, the Rescue Service “101” received a report about a fire in the city of Drohobych on the street. Naftovykiv, Drohobytsky district. The fire started in an apartment of a six-apartment one-story brick residential building, measuring 10×30 m.
Rescuers of the 5th state fire and rescue unit of Drohobych went to the place of the call.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene of the call, thick black smoke was coming out of the apartment on the first floor. Information was received from the residents of the building that a woman may be in the middle of the apartment. Because of heavy smoke, the rescuers had to work in special respiratory and eye protection devices.
Rescuers found the body of a dead woman on the floor of the kitchen while exploring the scene of the fire. The deceased was the owner of the apartment, a woman born in 1933. At 3:14 p.m., firefighters localized the fire and extinguished it at 3:16 p.m.
As a result of the fire, the fire destroyed household items on an area of 1 sq.m. 11 personnel and 2 units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
