The road accident occurred on March 11, around 13.00, on Peremyshlska Street in the town of Horodok, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Mercedes Benz E200, a 47-year-old resident of Horodok, hit a pedestrian, a 63-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the woman was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
