In the Lviv region, the police informed the detainee of the suspicion of an attempt to commit an audacious “apartment” theft

The law enforcement officers remind that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum penalties are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

As the employees of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 established, on March 18, at around 6 p.m. in one of the villages of the Lviv District, an unknown woman broke into the house where a temporarily relocated resident of Kharkiv lived and stole a significant amount of money in foreign currency.

The intruder tried to run away, but she was noticed by the mistress of the house, who called her husband for help. He kept an uninvited guest, and his wife reported the event to the emergency line 102.

The investigative and operative group of the territorial division of the police worked on the spot. Law enforcement officers established the identity of the perpetrator – a 57-year-old resident of Drohobych, who had previously been tried several times, and detained her in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Physical evidence was taken from her.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 3 of Article 15 – Part 5 of Article 185 (Attempt to commit theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to twelve years with confiscation of property.

Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
