A man accused of killing his neighbor will be tried in Lviv district

According to law enforcement, during a domestic conflict, the detainee stabbed his victim more than ten times and fled the scene. He faces a sentence of imprisonment for up to fifteen years for his crime.

On May 6, paramedics reported to the 102 operational line about the body of a man with signs of violent death, which they found when they arrived at a call in a village in Lviv district.

Criminal police operatives, investigators and employees of other services of the Police Department No. 3 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, as well as forensic specialists of the Lviv Police, were involved in solving the crime.

Law enforcers identified the deceased as a local resident aged 50, who had more than ten stab wounds on his body. That day, a neighbor of the same age came to visit him. The men drank alcohol and around 16.00 a conflict arose between them, during which the guest stabbed the host numerous times, causing fatal injuries. He then covered the body and fled the scene. Soon after, the victim’s mother returned home and called an ambulance to the scene.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under the procedural supervision of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office under Part 1 of Article 115 (Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment has been sent to court.

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.
