The accident occurred on July 26, at about 20:20, on the Kurovychi-Rohatyn highway in the village of Korosno, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Ford Sierra, a 57-year-old Lviv resident, hit a pedestrian, a 13-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the girl was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
