The traffic accident occurred on August 23 at 2:15 p.m. on the Lviv-Medenichi highway in the village of Shchyrets, Lviv district
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 413 minibus, a 37-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a cyclist, a 65-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the cyclist was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police of the Lviv region opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
