At the request of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a seizure was imposed on corporate rights in the amount of almost 80% of the charter capital of a network of well-known hotels for a total amount of over UAH 15.5 million and on real estate objects, namely a recreation center, a plot of land and a residential building. The total amount of seized property is over UAH 55 million, and its ultimate beneficiary is a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Currently, measures are being taken to transfer the arrested person to the ARMA administration.
Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted in criminal proceedings on the facts of legalization of property obtained by crime and official forgery (Part 1 of Article 209, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, officials of the LLC, which includes a hotel chain, at the behest of the beneficial owner concluded a number of formal contracts with the aim of withdrawing funds obtained through crime to non-resident enterprises registered in the Republic of Cyprus. And the profit received from the operation of the hotels, in particular in Lviv, was later channeled through banking and financial institutions as wages for the Russian owner. Thus, taxes were paid to the state budget of the Russian Federation, financing the war in Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by the investigators of the GU of the NP in the Lviv region, under the operational support of the USR in the Lviv region of the DSR of the NP of Ukraine in cooperation with the department for the prevention of financial transactions related to the legalization of criminally obtained income of the GU of the DPS in the Lviv region.
