Car Hits Pedestrian in Lviv: Investigation Ongoing
A woman was injured in Lviv as a result of a car hitting her – police are determining the circumstances of the incident.
Details of the Traffic Accident
The traffic accident occurred on May 1, at about 12:30 PM, on Bortniansky Street in Lviv.
According to preliminary findings by law enforcement officers, the driver of an Audi A4, a 25-year-old resident of Lviv, drove onto the sidewalk and hit a pedestrian, a 56-year-old resident of Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the woman sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigation and Legal Consequences
Investigators from Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Division No. 2 have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to three years, with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
