In Lviv, a collaborator who tried to escape to Poland through the Lviv region was sentenced to 13 years in prison

The collaborator, who was detained by border guards while trying to escape to Poland, was sentenced to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv issued the corresponding sentence. The traitor, who worked for the occupiers in Crimea, was convicted of treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

An official of one of the so-called “ministries” of the Russian-occupied Crimea was discovered in the spring of this year by operatives of the Lviv border detachment at one of the checkpoints. The employee tried to leave for Poland. In the future, the traitor intended to get to Russia through Belarus.

The law enforcement officers have collected sufficient evidence base, which confirms that the accused provided assistance to representatives of the Russian Federation in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine. In particular, during the years 2014-2021, while in Crimea in a responsible position of the so-called “Ministry of Economic Development”, the collaborator personally contributed to the introduction of the occupation regime in the region and openly supported the crimes of the Russian military and the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Actions to stop illegal activities were carried out by operatives of the Lviv border detachment together with SBU officers in the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office.
