In Lviv, a burglar jumped from the third floor and broke his leg while fleeing from police
Law enforcers detained the offender and his accomplice during a burglary. They face imprisonment for up to eight years for their actions.
On 7 July, at around 3 a.m., a woman reported to the 102 operational line that she had witnessed two unidentified men breaking into an apartment on the third floor of a building on Yaroslavenko Street in Lviv with the intention of committing a theft.
Patrol police crews and an investigative team from the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 immediately arrived at the scene. Seeing the law enforcement vehicles, one of the offenders jumped from the balcony and fell, breaking his leg, while his accomplice remained in the apartment. Both were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The detainees were identified as residents of Ivano-Frankivsk aged 43 and 45. The police seized the money they had stolen from the apartment.
The criminals were served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence stipulated by Part 3 Article 15 – Part 4 Article 185 (Attempted theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a measure of restraint was imposed on them. The article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
